THE END IS NEAR.....

Well here i am in the last ICT session in uni, feeling really motivated.  The class in which i work had a lesson in the computer room a few days ago.  They are learning all about food and where certain foods come from.  As the class is a y.3 class a lot of time was spent showing them how to log on and get to the correct website.  When they were on the correct site, they had to match foods with the animal that they were from.  The children really enjoyed the activity and the child that i mostly support participated fully.

Today in uni we are learning how to use photostory.  This seems to be something that I would use both in school and at home so fingers crossed it will be straightforward.x

Well im back in uni, in the ict room looking back over powerpoint and publisher! I have to start thinking about the assignment and what electronic resource im going to use.  I have made an e-book back in school so maybe I will build on that.....who knows :-)

January Blues!!!

Oh dear! I havent blogged for ages.  Severe weather, christmas, flu, children, broken laptop.......I could go on with my excuses but hey thats life!
Since my last blog the class that I work with have started having an hour computer session every other week.  They have learnt how to switch on a computer, log on with the schools password and get onto the internet.  The class teacher and I have had to help the children who do not have computers at home a lot more than the others.  Some of the children are probably better than myself!  It was quite suprising to see the show of hands when the class were asked if any of them use facebook.....age 7/8!

Powerpoint Addict!

Yesterday in school I started to make a powerpoint for the child that I support.  I was able to insert pictures from the internet and hyperlink buttons to turn the pages.  I also used hyperlink on the contents page so that when you click on a topic, it takes you straight to that page.  I inserted a home button so that you can go straight back to the contents page when required.  I couldnt remember how to insert a video from the internet so if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Powerpoints

Yesterday in uni we were shown how to use powerpoint.  It was all completely new to me so it was a little daunting at first!  I made a powerpoint about myself using hyperlink buttons to go through it.  I also put a video link from youtube on it!!  I will definately be using this back in school and also at home with my children. :-)    x
